Jasper and I were talking about his friend Sylvia from Seattle.

Jasper suddenly asks me: Is she normal?

Me: Yes, I guess she is.

Jasper: No, she is REALLY REALLY normal.

Me: Ummm....what do you think normal means?

Jasper: It means different. (Pause)

Jasper: I don't really know what it means.

Lightning Gets Married

(I'm sitting in the living room, working on a project, while Jasper is playing with his cars alone. Suddenly I start listening to what he says...Here are some excerpts that I was able to capture...)

Everyone is going to stay here and have a wedding.  And Lightning (McQueen) is going to bonk his wheel on the glass and it will break. And they will get married.

And the one who is coming will be not a baby, but a car who has the wedding is going to bring their friend.  Lightning’s friend is Rolly.

Yes, he is marrying Rolly, and he wants Rolly to be the first one. Cars don’t get a baby, but they are going to bring Lofty and ROlly.

(J playing with Lofty) Party! Here I come!

(J playing with Rolly) Rock and Roll! Here Rolly Comes! Backwards jump to Mater.

But scrambler kept on flying everywhere when scrambler just went bonk into him.

Which means that Scrambler doesn't get to come to the wedding.

Jasper's advice

Jasper's begun offering advice as a way of getting attention when we're otherwise busy. In the past 24 hours he has knocked on Adam's door three times and given the following advice:

At bedtime:

--Don't forget to brush the backs of your teeth, Dad.

While Adam's working:

--Um, I just wanted to make sure you're working the right way. Work the right way, OK?
--Make sure the arrow goes the right way, Dad. The arrow on the computer.
