So, our kids REALLY love their grandparents. Every night at bedtime, Gus requests a story about Mama Yaya and Kia dog and Papa Ricardo.
Yesterday, Jody, our nanny, told Jasper that Grandma and Grandpa were coming to visit (adam's parents). Jasper got very excited. He painted them a picture of a rocket ship with people in it, and purple fire at the bottom.
When I got home from work, and Jody left for the day, Jasper asked me, "Are Grandma and Grandpa coming now?" When I explained that they were actually not coming until the next day, he got very upset, and crumpled up his picture and put it in the trash.
Later in the evening, he bonked me in the head (not too badly, but still completely unacceptable). When I asked him why he did that, he said it was because he was mad about grandma and grandpa not coming yet.
This morning, when he woke up, literally the very first words out of his mouth were, "Are Grandma and Grandpa here now?"
