Sarah and Adam: The Next Generation

I'm a hat! And snuggling...

Last night gus climbed up on top of the couch, while I was sitting on the floor in front of it. He proceeded to climb on my head, where he announced, "I'm a hat!"

Jasper has really taken to snuggling lately. The other night at our parent's group, we had 6 other parents and 6 kids over, and Jasper came up to me and said, "Would you like to snuggle with me in the big bed?" I explained that right now, when we had people over, was not the right time for snuggling. He then went up and asked Adam the same question. Denied again, he began making the rounds of other adults in the room, desperate to find anyone who would snuggle with him!

Earrings and Mar-balls

So, a few weeks ago, Jasper was admiring my earrings, and asked if he could wear them. I explained that when he was grown up, he could wear earrings then, if he really wanted to.

Just the other day, we were having a separate conversation where I was explaining how someday he will grow up and become a man, just like Daddy. He looked at me, and said, with great joy, "And then when I am all grown up and I am a man, I can wear earrings!!"  Clearly, this was the best part about becoming a man.

Gus is talking up a storm these days, using full sentences, with great command of grammar. (His use of pronouns is really remarkable!)  However, one of his cute lingering language oddities is that he refers to marbles, which he LOVES, as "Mar-balls."  Once I thought about it, it's not that surprising. He loves balls, and what is a marble but a tiny ball, after all?

Maui

Just back from vacation for 24 hours now. Sort of a rough transition - leaving 78 degree weather, daily humpback whale sitings, snorkeling with turtles, twice daily beach and pool outings, mai tais, and more... Sigh. Warm Cow's Milk, Photos, Rocket Ship Story

Below you'll find a quick video of Gus, discussing milk, his favorite drink. Also, at right, some new photos up on Flickr, including some fun ones from Jasper's 3rd Birthday, our trip to Monterey, and of snow in our water table.  Finally, we posted a video of Grandma (Adam's mom) below, telling a story about a rocket ship going to the moon, with some assistance from Jasper.
