Tonight Jasper and Gus were bickering over the trains. Jasper likes to play with ALL of the trains and make a really long train, Gus insists on taking a few trains (Jasper can't defend them all when the train is so long, and I tell Jasper that he has to share). After the fourth train raid, Jasper exclaims, "You're driving me CRAZY!"
A few minutes later, as the tussles continue, Gus exclaims, "Mad! Frustrated!"
Also tonight Gus found Jasper's new butterfly wings, and brought them to us and asked we put them on him. Afterward he ran into the living room and shouted "Dance Party!" (A family activity.) Once we started the dance party, Jasper demanded a tutu to really get into the party mood.
Earlier today as we were going for a walk in the woods, Jasper and I were 'dashing down the path', and I said to Jasper, "we're dashing down the path!" as we ran along. But at some point we went from running downhill to running uphill. As we ran, when I said, "We're dashing down the path!" Jasper replied with, "No, I think we're dashing UP the path."
Then after we'd gotten further down the path, we paused, and Jasper noticed that Adam and Gus had fallen behind. He started to run back towards them, and I said, "Jasper, we're going this way! This way!" He replied with, "I have to run to be with my family!"
Finally, this afternoon at Mama Yaya's house, Jasper was going to see the cat, named Gypsy Basil, who was lying on the bed. He said, "Maybe Gypsy Basil would like a book to read." As if he were going to go and put her down for a nap!
One last thing: Jasper's really fond of onomatopoetic verbs. He'll start making some sound effect -- Shoooshing through a straw, or fffrrping on mommy's stomach, and then tell us, "I can't go yet, I have to fffrrp Mommy again first."
