Jasper has taken to occasionally calling us "Sweetie." He'll turn his head and say, "sweetie, can I have some milk," or "sweetie, let's build now."
Gus is having so much fun with the ability to talk. He can now sing the entire ABC song, with every letter receiving it's own enunciation (not all entirely correct, but enunciated nonetheless). He also sings Baa baa black sheep, along the lines of "Baa, baa back eep...Ooo...Yessir, yessir, ee ags ull. One or aster, one or ee dame, a, b, c..." It turns out that baa baa black sheep and ABC have the same tune, so he usually moves seamlessly back and forth, performing an abc/baa baa black sheep medley. We'll try and get a video of this phenomenon online soon.
Gus also likes to make jokes. If I ask him what his name is, he'll say, "Jasper!" and much hilarity ensues. Then after a few repetitions, he'll shout "It's GUS!" and hug me, laughing.
Jasper, on the other hand, remains firmly convinced that his name is Bob. Bob the builder. When you ask him what his name is, it's always Bob. And if you ask him what his last name is, it's "the builder". Everyone in the family has an associated character. Sarah is Wendy, Adam is Bob's Dad, and Gus is Spud, who, if you aren't aware of Spud, is basically a mentally deficient scarecrow. We're still trying to convince Jasper to assign Gus a different alternate personality.
