This weekend is the start of the Seafair festival, and the Blue Angels, 6 performing Navy planes, are here in town. They've been practicing in the air over Anna's house, where the kids spend the day during the week. Jasper has become complete entranced. For the first day or so he referred to them only as "Angel Planes". Now he calls them "Blue Angel Planes". All of the stories he requests are about the Blue Angels.
This morning he said, "Tell a story about Pepin the Puppy and Garumph the Dragon and how they went upstairs at Anna's house and watched the Blue Angel Planes from the window of the bedroom." And then after that story, "Tell a story about Pepin the Puppy and the airplane hangar with the Blue Angel Planes." Etc. Etc.
Although he loves these planes, he's also slightly terrified. When I suggested that we go and try and see the planes this morning, he got very excited, but then said it is too scary.
Gus on the other hand doesn't take much note of the various fast-moving objects, but he is talking up a storm. TONS of new words every day - and he's starting to be like Jasper was, where he can repeat most 1-2 syllable words after you say them if he tries.
