Tonight, Gus decided that walking was faster than crawling. He's basically been walking around the house for the past hour. He's up to 15 or 20 little steps at a time, and then he'll reach some object, and move on to the next one.
Gus has also learned a bunch of new words recently. He's saying lots of new things, repeating lots of words he hears. Recently he learned to say cheese, pronounced "cchhhh." Most creatively, Sarah has been teaching him to say please when he wants something (we know he's not learning politeness, but he has started to figure out that it's an effective way to ask for something), and presumably because it rhymes with cheese, Gus pronounces please as "cchhhh." You can see this partway through the ice cream video, where he asks for more.
Jasper's been practicing the sounds that letters make: "P starts for pig" and so forth. He's also reached a point where he rarely says "yes," which isn't uncommon among 2-year olds, but uncommonly he prefers to say "I would," or "I am," or "Actually, I do want that."
