The last few months have been kind of rough. Pretty much someone in our family has been sick on and off since October. But things are looking up!
Both kinds are a few days into a course of antibiotics (joint ear infections) and they are finally acting well. It's like we have new kids!! They are both so happy, and now that Gus is crawling, he just roams around the house finding entertainment for himself. And Jasper is dancing and singing again ("we dance around, we dance around, we dance around together!"). It's just so great!!
Also, the kids have started to entertain each other, which is so much fun!
Today Jasper said when he grows up he wants to be a fixer.
Things have been a little tough around here lately, with all of us taking turns being sick for the past month, but we're starting to dig through the backlog of video to post a few things for your viewing enjoyment. A few choice Jasper quotes first: --He referred to his Grandma, who likes to sing him "Frere Jacques" as "Grandma Jacques" --He's always been sensitive about his feet. Recently he asked to "go to the wide store to buy some wide shoes that fit nice." --He's into nicknames, and has started calling Adam "my daddy doggy" and Gus "Gussy" --When Gus picked up a toy Jasper wanted to play with, rather than grabbing the toy or hitting Gus, Jasper asked that we put Gus in his room, in the jumper. --Jasper's had a cold for a few weeks and we let him watch a Blues Clues video several times. Now that he's better, we tell Jasper "We only watch videos when you're sick." So today he said, "Blues Clues, I'm sick!" --Finally, Gus can now say all done, mommy, daddy, Jasper, dog, and his favorite all-purpose word, "na-na" meaning both "I want to nurse" and "Mommy, pick me up for some other reason and as long as you're holding me, maybe I could nurse a little?"
GUITAR HERO Jasper got a guitar from Uncle Marc and Aunt Jo for his birthday.
GUS LEARNS TO CRAWL This is about 3 days in, and he's already significantly improved--for example he can move both his legs independently.
IT'S COMPLICATED Jasper tries out a new catch-phrase, and recites a few facts from his favorite book at the moment, "Owen & Mzee"
GUS'S FIRST MEAL OK, this is kind of old, but a few little clips from Gus's first meal, 3 months ago now.
DANCE AROUND TOGETHER
Jasper's been going to a music class and likes to sing a few of the songs he learned there.
