This week has seen many exciting developments:
1) On Monday, Gus smiled for the first time (awake), a real smile. Woohoo! He also got kind of fussy, but we know it's just part of him figuring out how to smile.
2) On Tuesday, Jasper had his first temper tantrum ever. It wasn't so bad. Sarah was so shocked, she immediately took his temperature, to see if he was sick. (Turns out it was just a tantrum.) On Tuesday, Gus also turned 5 weeks old. That night Gus went for 4 hours without eating or waking up, allowing Sarah to sleep her first 4 hour stretch in over a month. We also started Gus on a bottle on Tuesday, which he gulped down with no hesitation whatsoever!
3) On Wednesday, Gus weighed in at 11 pounds, 12 ounces. The boy can eat! That night he slept for 5 hours in a row, from 9 PM to 2 AM. Sarah was so happy when she woke up at 2 AM to feed him that it took her an extra 15 minutes to go back to sleep - she couldn't stop reveling in her joy at all the sleep she got in one stretch.
Today is Thursday, not sure what big developments will come today, but we'll try and keep you posted. Also, we hope to put up more photos soon - we've taken them, but having a hard time finding the time to get them up!
