Life with Gus has been surprisingly easy for these first few days. Knock on wood, he’s been a really good sleeper and is starting to get day and night straight—last night he slept for two stretches of nearly four hours each, with a big feeding after each, and then was awake and just looking around for three hours this morning.

Gus was born just after midnight on Tuesday, April 17. He ate for an hour after birth, then slept through most of the next 24 hours, waking only briefly to spit up and then drift off again.
His horoscope said:
Your heart could really be on your sleeve this coming year. Your mind will be functioning crisply too, if you take time to think. This may not be the best year to make important financial plans. Staying busy and active with friends should help you sidestep any temporary spats.
