Video Tuesdays: insane bungee jumping

At a friend's house we saw this cool, outdoorsy version of a "jonny jump-up" and we got one for ourselves. Jasper quickly learned how to jump and got more and more adventurous about it. But even better, the whole thing just puts him in such a fantastic mood that he's susceptible to hysterical laughter, and Sarah is expert in wheedling it from him, as you'll see here.

OK, so we're totally off schedule, and this is a very low quality video, but here is a very short video of Jasper laughing at the end of a meal.

Jasper's Photo Shoot

So Jasper just had his first official photo shoot, thanks to a gift from Adam's parents!  We don't have final pictures yet, but thought folks would enjoy a sneak preview of a few of the photos that are up on the photographer's web site.  Now we know where Jasper gets that huge open-mouthed smile! From his dad!!

Camping Once More

Last weekend we went camping again, which was a great success. We had along Jasper's new baby backpack (courtesy of his grandparents) which he enjoyed very much!  We uploaded a few new photos, including this lovely picture of Jasper sleeping in the backpack, with a little huckleberry mustache!

Video Tuesdays: Playing Ball

Today's video shows Jasper playing ball (he's quite the exceptional 6-month old!). If you watch all the way to the end of the video, you'll see a demonstration of the fact that Jasper responds equally well to "Jasper" and/or "Cowbell".

A Little Boy is Lurking

So just recently a few photos of Jasper seem more like he could be a little boy than a baby. It was shocking. Most of the time he still looks (and certainly acts!) like a baby, but still, I know the next phase is just around the corner. These days Jasper is keeping us very entertained with his new tricks - eating (so fun!), sitting up (still a little dicey), talking and making funny screechy sounds, reaching for everything that looks remotely interesting, and hurling his entire body at things with every ounce of energy he can muster. 

He's become quite accomplished at rolling over from back to front, but, as with so many babies these days, he hates to be on his tummy. Unfortunately for him, he so enjoys the act of rolling over that he frequently ends up on his tummy, where he then proceeds to shout for help until someone comes along to roll him back. He's also taken to rolling over at night, waking himself up in the process...And of course, that means we're awake, too.
